Blog post 3: Ancient Culture

Stars is connected to our life a very long time ago. Ancients even believe that stars is their God. They even worship it. They even have their own rituals and events to acknowledge their Gods. We even have zodiac signs that we believe in its like that signs tell us our own fortune. Ancients give us influence in many things we have in our life that we still use nowadays.

This article entitle "the universe and man" by Camille Flammarion in the website www.windows2universe.org. In this picture it explains the connection or relationship of man and the universe how they related by each other.It explains their that ancient civilization of myths of the sky their were god and goddess. Many years ago people understand the origin of heaven and the stars in the sky. Many culture have their own stories about stars being their god and goddess. Like the Native American in their own tradition of story telling they said that god descend to impregnate barren females in a certain village. If that female born the child they called it star children until they reach the age of 6 that child will return to reclaim their power or progeny.

For thousands of years people have associated objects in the sky, the Earth, and aspects of their physical world with the gods and goddesses of their cultures. Through these pages, find out about the gods and goddesses of different cultures around the world, and the works of art people have created to give them expression. Early civilization discover many things and they think that heavens inspired and shaped their beliefs.

We all know that we have many things that early civilization conclude for us and various of culture that have their own point of view for the member of their community. Ancient culture believe in star god and goddess that some people use until now. Having rituals and event for their gods. They even have a big celebration in order to worship their gods. I just conclude that even we have different culture and various of believes we get it and originated at one way the early civilization.

Blog post 2: Science View

When we look in the night sky we can see millions or billions of stars lighting up our nights. Without stars every night in our life will be dark and gloomy. Stars help us in many things. We believe that shooting stars can make our every wishes came true. A starry night sky can make you that your not alone. It can be your courage or your friend in many different ways. Stars is always their even how many years will past it will still guide you.

According to Fraser Cain in his website universetoday.com entitled "What is a Star?" It stated their that star is a ball of hydrogen and helium with enough mass that it can sustain nuclear fusion at its core. He said their and explain what were left in the big bang and we all know that we have a big bang theory that taught to us in high school  or in elementary. He explain how gas collect together that cause into a protoplanetary disk and the gravitational collapse of hydrogen and helium. We all know that our heavenly bodies are mysterious thing their are many theories how and where they are made. Nuclear fusion is what define star but vary in mass because we know that different amount of mass give stars their properties. Star can live billions of years in the sky whether its day or night.

In the article entitled "Starry Night: Colors of Summer Stars Explained" by Joe Rao in the website scientificamerican.com. He said their that a hues direct visual how stellar temperatures vary. He explain how and they feel when they saw a rainbow of the star colors in the night sky on that summer. In the picture its just a mix color of the night sky and a color of red that give a amazing impression to people.

According to Aristotle in an article entitled "Aristotelian Cosmology" in the website physic.ucr.edu. In this article the On the Heavens is most influential treatise of its kind in the history of humanity. It explain many thing about the stars and also about the galaxy that many scientist research on. Its like a discovery in many ways that help every on understand the universe on its own.

I conclude that many things in our world have their own mystery that various of people want to discover what mystery is that. Scientist help us in our question about many things about our heavenly bodies or thoughts about our galaxy. Many things that we can discover if we just explore and observe in every angle.

Stars is like life full of mystery and discoveries and if you discover thing its exciting. Star may relate in many various of way in our life so its exciting thing and interesting to explore and discover. 

Blog post 1: Myth of Stars

I am Leah Fe R. Ayop. Its interested me to right about stars because when I was in Bohol I saw a a beautiful starry night its like the dark sky was full of millions of lights. I remember it while I was thinking about my topic for the blog. That's inspired me to write about the stars as my topic. When I was alone at night and feel afraid I just find my self gazing at the starry night. 

Stars that shining like a diamond in the night star. Its like a millions of light that watching you under. We all know that stars is a natural luminous body visible in the sky especially at night. Stars also serves as light in our night. Watching at stars in the night sky made you feel relax or make you feel peace in your personalities. Gazing at it make you want to reach it but its out of reach. Its just like wish upon a star.

"Astraea was a Greek goddess of justice and innocence. She was a star maiden."

In this article it explains how was the life of Astraea when she was in the earth. She experienced in the wickedness of the humanity of the people. It shows how Astraea suffer and abandon the earth during the iron age. It states in this article what are the personalities of Astraea being the daughter of Zeus and Themis. Astrea the last immortal was the celestial virgin. Its explain here why she was the last immortal that live on the human world. Why she return to the heaven and become the constellation of Virgo. I thought that suffering in the wickedness of the humanity and being injustice of people made her back to the heaven. Even though that Astraea is a immortal she witness and suffer in the human world because of being greedy of the human. She was the associated with the goddess of justice Dike. Being the constellation of Virgo reflect with justice.

 

According to the article Hesperos by Sarah Pernick in the website Encyclopedia Mythica.
"Eosphorus means bearer of light. Hesperos means the bearer of dawn."

In this article it explain the personalities of Hesperos and his brother being the star of planet Venus. Why this personalities associated them of being the evening star and morning star of the Venus. How their personalities conflated to each other. What life does they have living in human earth and what struggles they have in. They were the son of the dawn goddess. It says in this article that bearer of light and the bearer of dawn often translated as Lucifer. How it came up being the evening star and morning star. It explain how they got the names bearer of light and bearer of dawn. It explains how the Ancient Greeks agreed that evening star and morning star are same celestial objects.

I conclude that there are many history or Greek mythology about stars. Its interesting to know about the God of stars, the star maiden and even about the evening star and the morning star. If you read thing about them you will learn how they were called that way like it was their nicknames. Reading and researching about this things its like your back in past life or time. You can imagine the things that happen many years back then. Stars is not just a heavenly bodies that give us light at night its also a way to learn things happen in earth many years ago. How humans become wicked, greedy and forget about justice. That's why in mythology about stars it explains how immortals become Gods in their on ways in life and its a interesting topic.

The Gods of star, star maiden, evening star and the morning star the things that they experienced as obstacles or problems is just like what many of us have. It may be a struggle but just like a star in the night sky we must just keep on shining even though its tough on us. According to Albert Einstein “Everything is determined, the beginning as well as the end, by forces over which we have no control. It is determined for the insect, as well as for the star. Human beings, vegetables, or cosmic dust, we all dance to a mysterious tune, intoned in the distance by an invisible piper.” Its not like we can change what happened many years ago. Mythology just give info about the immortal days we have that's why we have God of star and star maiden. That's my report in stars in mythology.
